Generac Holdings Inc. has opened a new distribution center in Janesville.
In its Tuesday announcement, Generac (NYSE: GNRC) said the distribution center will employ about 80 people in positions involving material handling, shipping and receiving. The Waukesha County power and engine company employs 1,800 people locally.
The nearly 490,000-square-foot facility in Janesville is owned by Zilber Property Group in Milwaukee.
“Our new distribution facility is part of our continuing commitment to, and investment in, the state of Wisconsin,” said Shawn Fortune, vice president of global supply chain at Generac. “We’re very pleased to be part of the Janesville community. When fully operational, this distribution center will support Generac’s growing business by serving as a critical hub to get backup power solutions to people when they need it.”
